Description:  Harrisburg-1961. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on 23 August 1961. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #5761 and #5710. Both are EP-22's built by EMD in 1952 and rated at 2,500 horsepower each. They have just departed the Harrisburg Station with a Baltimore- and Washington-bound passenger train, and are about to cross the Susquehanna River via the Cumberland Valley Railroad Bridge near downtown Harrisburg. One of Harrisburg's hospitals is partially visible on the left. ("Red Shift" slide converted to Black & White.)

Description:  AHC. Here is an original photo that I took at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 28 September 1963. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #5807, #5704, #5857, and #5710. All were built by GM-EMD. #5807, #5704, and #5710 are EP-22's built in 1952 and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. #5857 is an EP-20 built in 1948 and rated at 2,000 horsepower. They are pulling a 50-car westbound mail/express train up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West.

They are pulling a westbound refrigerator-car express train up a straight stretch of track in the Juniata River Valley.
