PRR 2-10-4 #6473 - Pennsylvania RR
Title:  PRR 2-10-4 #6473 - Pennsylvania RR
Description:  Coming around the Horseshoe curve with its unit coal train is PRR 2-10-4 #6473. With its impressive tractive effort of 95,484 lb, it could easily marshal these cars. Built by the PRR's Altoona Shops in February of 1943, the loco served the Pennsy well but even so, its service lasted barely 14 years before being retired and scrapped. Diesels had proven their worth even over a quality powerhouse as this 2-10-4! No photographer or date was given for the photo but it might be a J.R. Quinn photo.
