Built by Alco in 1930 for the Chesapeake & Ohio, it now sits in a scrap line, face plate removed, in a location listed as Ganley's Ridge, WV, by the photographer R.D. Patton. For the life of me, I can't seem to find where that is. Does anyone know this location? No date was given but since the entire C-16 class was retired between 1954-57, I listed it as 1954. Jonathan Spurlock (see comment below) found Handley, WV, as a location that does seem to fit the background very closely so I have identified the location as Handley, WV.. Could Ganley's Ridge be one of the hills in the background? |
