Built by Alco-Brooks in October of 1912 as CM&StP #8108 (serial #52181), it was renumbered CMStP&P 706 in 1938. The loco lasted on the active roster until February of 1954. The photo has it sitting in the scrap line with its bell gone and awaiting the scrapper's torch. Specs - class L2-r3" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 26x30" cylinders, engine weight of 277,800 lb, tractive effort of 54,723 lb. An unknown photographer took this photo. |
