I dont know if a crewman waved this guy across. The ground man was walking up to the engine after connecting the air and getting the train ready for the next road move, so it was sitting still. If it were me, Id have made absolutely sure I had the train crews OK before I crossed in front of it. |

The local has retrieved its other cars and is now making a run for its next stop, most likely Tysons mill just down the road in Johnson. I didnt have time to go after it, but I did get this shot of him pulling the grade from a standing start. Look at that pall above the train!! The sight and sound of a pair of Alcos, something I have not seen on a regular basis since I watched the LIRR years ago, is an awesome sensory experience. |

The ex Frisco station at Fayetteville is nicely kept, and is home to several non rail businesses-a Chipotle among them-just off Dickson St. I was farther uptown, having just finished lunch at Mermaids, when I heard a horn on a southbound. I beat feet for the station, thinking I might catch this train with a little luck. The railfan gods were smiling, as the crew had "gone to beans" as it were, in this case, Chipotle carry out. I got him going past the station with a pair of Alcos and ten car. |
