ERIE 4-6-0 #831
Title:  ERIE 4-6-0 #831
Description:  This is one of the most striking photos of the elegant, simple, sleek Erie ten-wheelers I've seen. Originally built for the New York, Lake Erie & Western RR as their #350, it is a class G-1 built in 1889. I can see this serving as an excellent prototype for a brass model locomotive. Harold K. ERIE 4-6-0 #875 camelback
Title:  ERIE 4-6-0 #875 camelback
Description:  Here is the camelback version of the 4-6-0 ten wheeler, a much different configuration. Do note the extended cover for the fireman in the back. Built by either the Erie Susquehanna shops or Baldwin between 1891-96, this originally was New York, Lake Erie & Western #260, a class G-8, but was transferred to the Erie RR at a later date. The day in July is approximate. Harold K. Vollrath photo

ERIE 4-6-0 #913 camelback
Title:  ERIE 4-6-0 #913 camelback
Description:  Built by the Burnham, Wms & Co (Baldwin) in 1901, this camelback ten-wheeler type locomotive was a class G-12 with 62" drivers, developed 200 psi boiler pressure and had a respectable tractive effort of 27,217 lb. Note the open and unprotected fireman's position in back. That would have been difficult working conditions. The day in February is approximate.Harold K. Vollrath photo

ERIE 4-4-2 #963 camelback
Title:  ERIE 4-4-2 #963 camelback
Description:  Confusing data listed on the back of the photo credits this as a 1902 Baldwin built Atlantic of the E-3 class but other sources are in conflict with the information. Can anyone help locate information about this locomotive? Harold K. Vollrath photo

ERIE 4-6-0 #970
Title:  ERIE 4-6-0 #970
Description:  This is a stunning ten-wheeler with the white walls and gleaning steam chest, obviously the pride of the Erie RR at the time. Specifics - 69" drivers, 200 psi, 19" x 26" cylinders. Unfortunately no photographer was credited with taking this great action shot in an undisclosed location. With Dave Korhammer's help (see comment below) and based on the location of the Union Terminal Cold Storage Company (partial name in background), I now believe that the location is Jersey City, NJ.
