This one, built by Alco-Brooks in 1898 served the Monon well into the late 1940's. Specs - class E-1, 54" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 21x26" cylinders, original engine weight of 172,000 lb, original tractive effort of 36,097 lb, rebuilt and superheated by the Monon shops in 1922.
