ATSF 205038 was built as a class Bx-12 single wood sheath, outside braced boxcar in 1930. Fifty Bx-12s were rebuilt into Bx-86 grain boxcars in 1965-65 using Transco Tri-rib sides with exposed ribs. The Tri-rib was supposed to be stronger for its weight than more conventional sheeting. Thx to Evan_Werkema for these details. It was in MOW service at the time of this photo. |
