Description:  The American Association of Private Railroad Car Owners (AAPRCO) held their 1996 annual convention at New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal. Seventeen of the cars which attended the convention, along with Illinois Central business car 800413 and BN power car SNOQUALMIE PASS, arrived on a special train from Chicago on 24 October, pulled by IC E-units 101 and 100. Eight more cars arrived on regular Amtrak trains, and one locally-based car was delivered by the KCS, for a grand total of 26 cars which were parked on tracks 5-10. Twenty-two cars departed on regular trains between Sunday the 27th and the 29th. The last four cars went to the KCS on the 29th and three of these continued on to Mexico on a HIGH IRON special.
