US ARMY "Flood Relief" engine         
USA B-2044 at Charles Street (Providence) - New Haven RR was loaned 38 Army engines in August/November 1955 to help New Haven to recover from floods. 2044 is an ALCO MRS-1 1600 HP C-C. All Army engines were returned Feb.-June 1956.
