| Kansas City Southern F9Am 4053 was outside the diesel shop at West Yard, just west of New Orleans. The unit had been built as F7A 58D and was rebuilt by EMD in March 1956 after a head-on collision at Sulphur Springs, Texas. This rebuild explained the F9 louver arrangement and contributed to its longevity. It was scrapped in March 1986. |
