Once the kings of the High Iron.         
All the units in this picture have fallen from their former glory, the Kings of the high iron. Back in the 50s, SD9s ruled the rails, followed by EMD Geeps, and then in the 70s, the SD40 line. Now examples from each are now here, either retired or getting close to it.

Ron Moraca General Awesome photo, Alec!!!!!!!!!!!!! Look at it this way, at least all the locos pictured, and others like them relegated to yard service only, are getting to end their working lives proudly, instead of being shoved into weed-grown side tracks and forgotten or scrapped. 11/21/2009 12:40:14 AM
