J Thomas General Here is some info on NS4000 I found on the JReb.org forum posted by StevenJ an engineer for Norfolk Southern testing this unit: PR43C is aEx-SD50 Rebuilt With 2 CAT Engines A C-18 700hp And A C-175 3400hp Each Wth It's Own Generator. It Works Like This: The C-18 Runs In Throtle notches 1 & 2, The C-175 Runs From Notch 3 Through 7, Both Are On Line From Notch 8 Through 10. This Is A Tier III Loco Developed Jointly By PR/CAT, TMS/NS And Funded With A Grant From The State Of Illinois. 9/1/2009 2:49:22 PM

phil mc cracken General It won't last, from my stand point as an engineer, twice as much stuff to break you doubled your problems. 7/11/2010 6:18:11 AM
