| Looking east, the Alco is taking a few cabooses,cars and an engine to the yard at Hardy St. The building to the left is the long gone Tower 26. The SP line through east Texas to Shreveport headed NE at the tower. The track to the upper right (immediately below the maintenance trucks) is the passenger main that passed through downtown Houston and the SP/Amtrak station -- as it still does today. The Sunset still uses it and also during this time the Lone Star consist,overnight, was brought out to the wye at the tower to be turned for its return trip to Chicago.
