CNJ Caboose #91168 - Central RR of New Jersey
An unknown rail fan spotted this nearly forgotten CEntral RR of New Jersey. No information was given about where it was sitting. Does anyone recognize this location? Thanks to Tom Beckett (see comments below) for suggesting Crawford, NJ which seems to fit. Unfortunately, I could only select Crawford Corners, NJ - not sure why. Does it seem like the right location?

Tom Beckett General Looks like it could possibly be Cranford, where the CNJ had a small yard, and interchanged with the rahway Valley, and the Staten Island Rapid Tranait, whixch at the time was a subsidiary of Chessie/B&O. B&O historically had trackage rights over Reading and CNJ from Philadelphia into Jersey City, and set off 1/10/2025 4:14:47 AM
Tom Beckett General Not much here to go on, but I'll hazard a guess. Could be a lot of places. Looks like it could possibly be Cranford, where the CNJ had a small yard, and interchanged with the rahway Valley, and the Staten Island Rapid Tranait, which at the time was a subsidiary of Chessie/B&O. B&O historically had trackage rights over Reading and CNJ from Philadelphia into Jersey City, and set off Staten Island traffic here-customers were a coal fired Con Ed plant, and a Procter & Gamble soap plant, among others. Also, check the date on this. It would most likely be earlier than 1981, as Conrail took over in April 1976, so I'm guessing it's probably some time in the early 70's. 1/10/2025 4:18:00 AM
