| Amtrak E9 416 at 18th Street in Chicago, Illinois on an unknown day in September 1979, Ektachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 416 was built in December 1963 as UP E9 911 (c/n 27695) on EMD Order 7629. It was sold to Amtrak in May 1971, retired by Amtrak in 1980, sold to PNC in June 1981 and scrapped. The bridge in the background is the ICG's Saint Charles Air Line, and at the time of this photo, also an Amtrak route. |
