CA&E 24
Chicago Aurora & Elgin Railroad coach 24 at the Laramie Yards in Chicago, Illinois, unknown date and photographer, scanned from a 2¾X4½ print, Chuck Zeiler collection. Number 24 was built by the Niles Car and Manufacturing Company in 1902. I ballparked the posted date based on notes in CERA Bulletin 105 which indicate that the arched windows were blocked off during July 1943. This car was equipped with four GE66B traction motors, Baldwin trucks, two GE C6 controllers, seating for 52 passengers, and was retired in 1959.
