Retired engines   Contributor's Pick!
Retired Alcos (one EMD) at the Saginaw Roundhouse, Saginaw, Michigan. Engine #469 is still in its old Detroit & Mackinac Railway colors, built 9-1946. They were the 1st Railroad to fully dieselize from steam! This is one of their 1st diesels! I've never seen it run, this is the best that I've done! It's worth saving of course! Photographs taken here under strict permission guidelines from an employee who will remain unknown. This is not public property of course. (Mamiya RB67 Medium Format film camera, Fuji NPH 400 print film)

Gregory Garbacz General Robert, See D&M 469 running in my album Detriot & Mackinaw 1986! Running out of Bay City. Love your photos. As a former Bluewater Michigan Chapter memeber I can really relate to your fondness for the old stuff. See my Trainfest 2009 album for a nice PM 1225 photo 4/11/2011 7:05:19 AM
