I hope to see this restored someday. In 1960, NKP donated #384, "War Baby", to the city of Lorain for display.

Alan Fricker General Interesting. I haven't decided if it's for preservation or the scrapping was stopped. 3/27/2012 8:50:58 PM
George Sillett General Now thats sad, Nice shot... 3/27/2012 10:35:27 PM
Geneva Short General Looks very European - So good that you've "exposed" this gem; now there's a good chance it'll be saved! 3/28/2012 2:09:42 PM
Tim Darnell General Nice, and sad. Needs to find someone with deep pockets who wants to see it run again! 3/28/2012 4:18:17 PM
Tony Held General Rescue this locomotive/rescue this locomotive ... why is it here? 4/17/2012 4:35:31 PM
Andy Stallard General Thanks for posting this! I have wondered for ages where that engine went! Now I'm not 100% sure but, there was an NKP Switcher that was on display in park in South Lorain for ages. Sometime around 1998 it was moved from around Rt 57 in South Loarin to somewhere. Rumor had it that it went to Ohio Central but was never seen. I'm at least 90% convinced this is the engine in question. 4/22/2012 1:52:55 AM
BOB WICKES General Hi Wendy, I promise,as soon as I hit the lottery this will be on my list. Theres another NKP loco that sits in Hammond, Indiana, I think I have shots of it somewhere on this site. 4/23/2012 6:56:12 PM
Stu Nicholson General A good start would be to put this vintage locomotive under a tarp or some kind of protection. I am so tired of seeing pieces of history turn to rust while someone claims they are restoring it. Sorry to vent. 4/23/2012 9:25:22 PM
Robert Beichler General I'm with Stu we've lost to many great pieces. 4/30/2012 8:08:20 PM
Debbie Lewis General Someone needds to get in touch with Jerry Jacobson at the Age of Steam Roundhouse. Maybe he would buy the 384 to restore? 7/2/2012 6:56:49 PM
Frances Wainwright General You'll make it run again, Wendy - I can't wait! 7/9/2012 1:54:55 PM
