CAE Pullman
Chicago Aurora & Elgin Railroad Pullman built (number unknown) at Aurora, Illinois on an unknown date, photo by unknown photographer, Chuck Zeiler collection. The date is a best guess, based on the automobiles in the background. The car is from the 400-419 number series, built by Pullman in 1923. When the CA&E arrived in Aurora in 1902, they terminated in the streets on tracks shared with the Aurora city lines. By 1927, plans were developed for a four track terminal with interlocking at roughly this location, but later revised to a single track on land fill along the Fox River, finally built in 1939. The passageway at the right side of the frame led to the New York Avenue bridge and the ticket office located in a store facing Broadway Street.
