Stopped Southbound Manifest After the Storm  Contributor's Pick!
We had a severe storm sweep through the area with funnel clouds, microbursts, macrobursts, 70 mph straightline winds, downed trees and powerlines and blown off roofs littered the area! This train had good power, and the clouds were illuminated by cloud to cloud lightning. The railroad was shut down for about 4 hours while they were fixing gates, getting debris off the tracks, and getting the power back on so the lineside signals would work. I spoke to the engineer and asked him if I could take photos. He said take all I wanted, then asked if I had come from Malden. I told him downed trees, powerlines, roofs off, everything, pretty much painted a hellish scene. He told me that all the trains were stopped and nobody was moving.
