DLW station  Contributor's Pick!
SLN 5 passes the former DLW station at Binghamton as it heads out track 3 for west BD and the Southern Tier Line. Note the area behind the station. At the time, it held the equipment owned by the Susquehanna Valley NRHS; also visible is the stack from the powerhouse that provided electricity for the station complex, and the Marconi tower, one of the first railroad radio installations in the US. Beyond the billboard is the site of the DLW freight house, which had been demolished to make way for the new stadium, now NYSEG Stadium, home to the Binghamton Mets, the NY Mets AA farm team.
