Rock Island depot, Ponca City  Contributor's Pick!
Ponca City Oklahoma is famous as the home of Phillips 66 Oil and the Santa Fe presence was always dominant, but it also was at the end of a 55 mile Rock Island branch that ran from Enid. The end of the line was marked by the road's mission-style depot on So. 3rd Street. The former RI depot at Ponca City OK. As of 1979 the line was covered by a tri-weekly turn out of Enid that was limited to a 10MPH speed limit. The route was operated by the North Central Oklahoma RR 1982 to 1983 and finally abandoned.
