Pan Am Southern Train number 22K traverses Pownal Curve in late-day light  Contributor's Pick!
The usual photo locations along Pownal Curve are best for an eastbound train, and lighting is most favorable in the afternoon or early evening. I intercepted this one by chance, and had terrific late-day light to take the photo. Pan Am track crews cut the brush along the entire length of the curve last year, permitting a riverside photo angle this year.
