Helpers  Contributor's Pick!
Washington Hill in western Mass was a manned helper district in the mid 80s. A helper set has passed under the local road that passes over the crest and is headed toward Westfield. The GP 38 was an outlier here. The Albany Division, and the Boston Line especially, was almost all GE's in this region. Selkirk was the major maintenance base for GE's on the Conrail system.
