| Here is one strange photo taken on Christmas Day in 1939 of an ex-funeral car rebuilt into a medical car for joint use byCA&E, CNS&M and CRT lines. It sits outside the Chicago, North Shore & Milwaukee yards. Note the arched windows in the door and the stained glass still in the smaller window. Some funeral cars had a special side door behind the first door for loading the casket - this one has the larger freight door instead.. |
