According to www.steamlocomotive.com, this Consolidation loco has an interesting life. "In 1910, 10 wide-firebox Consolidations were logged in Alco's order book for the Buffalo & Susquehanna as their 169-178, the line went into receivership. The engines were redirected to several lines and #174 wound up on the C & IM. In 1938, it moved over to the Midland Terminal and was renumbered 61. 61 served the MT until the road was closed in 1949." The location appears to be Peoria, IL but nothing was written on the back confirming this. Francis Gschwind photo

Alan Fricker General If it was taken in Peoria, it would most likely be the P&PU yard. The C&IM had trackage rights from Pekin to Peoria to reach the P&PU yard. 1/2/2016 11:16:36 AM
