Foreign Power KCS 3958 in town Editors Pick!
Another visitor to the Chesapeake Western - KCS 3958 came in on a grain train special order. KCS see here is backing through town with 79 empty's passing a very well know local mom and pop restaurant, L&S diner. If you are ever in town this is a great place for some good ole home cooked food prepared right in front of you with a heaping side of local chit chat. Designed by a local architect the diner has been serving it up since 1947.

Tom Beckett General What a cool shot!! Love the local flavor the diner provides, one of those small town images that barely exist anymore. Well deserved editors pick. The KCS 3958 started out as a TFM unit, 1658. About 2010, KCS started relettering and renumbering the SD70MAC fleet, numbering them into the 3900's, still gray with big red KCS on the long hood. The fleet of 70-odd units was gradually repainted into the "Retro Belle" scheme here. Some have recently been sold off, but there are still some in service on the KCS. I've seen at least two in the last month or so here on the Heavener Sub. Nicely done. 5/19/2022 5:19:22 AM
