| Slope to Works. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train between SLOPE and WORKS Towers in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 06 June 1965. Shown here (R to L) is PRR engine #9537 and another unit whose number is not visible. Both were built by EMD. #9537 is an EF-15 built in 1948 and rated at 1,500 horsepower. They are pulling a westbound train consisting of empty hopper cars past WORKS Tower and under the new version of the 4th Street Bridge. Looks like some front-end air conditioning, to me! |
