Here is page two of a five-page camera study by Don Wood entitled "Piggyback Performance: Pennsy's TT1." It was published originally in the July 1960 issue of "Trains" magazine, page 47. Top Photo: Partially visible here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4804, a GG-1 (2-C-C-2) built by General Electric during June of 1935, rated at 4, 620 horsepower, and retired in June of 1966 after 31 years of faithful service. In this context, it's preparing to pull PRR's TT-1 out of Kearny, New Jersey, on the first leg of its 900-mile/26-hour journey to Chicago, Illinois. |
