PRR Westbound Receiving Yard in East Altoona, 1965
WRY. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad Property in East Altoona, Pennsylvania, during October of 1965. Shown here is a north-facing view of the remnants of several structures that supported activities at the PRR's Westbound Receiving Yard. This was once an exceptionally-busy place; virtually all westbound freight trains were serviced here. Now it's just weeds and ghosts, soon to be demolished and thus disappear from history . . . alas..
