PRR 5761, EP-22, 1961
Harrisburg-1961. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on 23 August 1961. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #5761 and #5710. Both are EP-22's built by EMD in 1952 and rated at 2,500 horsepower each. They have just departed the Harrisburg Station with a Baltimore- and Washington-bound passenger train, and are about to cross the Susquehanna River via the Cumberland Valley Railroad Bridge near downtown Harrisburg. One of Harrisburg's hospitals is partially visible on the left. ("Red Shift" slide converted to Black & White.)
