PRR 8659, AS-18AM, #1 of 2, 1962
Everyday. Here is the first of two successive original photos that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 07 October 1962. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #8659 and #8670. Both are AS-18AM's built by the American Locomotive Company in 1958 and rated at 1,800 horsepower each. They are pulling a mixed-cargo freight train into the Hollidaysburg Yards. This photo taken along Broad Street, just West of the Jackson Street Crossing.
