Lewistown Narrows, shown here, was the scene of a dramatic one-man train robbery in 1909, when a masked bandit stopped and looted the Pittsburgh & Northern Express. Ironically, he passed up half a million dollars in low-denomination bank notes for a heavy sack cotaining sixty-five-dollars' worth of Lincoln pennies!" |
