IC Geeps
Illinois Central geeps 9054, 9313 and 3003 were backing onto their southbound train (on the left) after having run down to the Hammond depot to exchange some paperwork with the agent. The trainman next to the middle unit would throw the switch for the line to Baton Rouge as soon as the engines pass. The passenger cars on the left belonged to the Southeast Louisiana Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society, while the geep on the right was the Hammond Switcher. This photo was taken about 20 months after the IC-GM&O merger, but this still looked just like the IC! (approximate date)
