BNSF 4500
A southbound BNSF frac sand train has reached the Kentucky side of the Metropolis Bridge over the Ohio River, passing over the Oliver C. Shearer, a towboat operated by the Campbell Transportation Co. of Charleroi, PA. The Oliver C. Shearer was built in 1961 by the Marietta Manufacturing Co. of Point Pleasant, WV, and was repowered in 1965 with a pair of EMD 16-645E diesel engines, the same engines that powered GP40 and SD40 locomotives.
