Photo Caption: "Class D16, American type locomotive. First design was built at Altoona about 1895." Shown here is PRR engine #1052, a D-16D (4-4-0) "American" built in the Altoona Machine Shops during February of 1902 and retired in February of 1930 after 28 years of faithful service.
