| The power for J760 is parked for the weekend on the old Hartsville Branch lead in Gallatin. A few of the southernmost miles of the branch are still in service between this point and the Highway 25 crossing. At one time unit coal trains for TVA Gallatin used the branch to access the trackage to the steam plant. This arrangement ended around 1997 due to lower costs of barging in coal and complaints from the citizens of Gallatin regarding the coal trains blocking crossings in town. |
