SSW 2-6-0 #191 - St Louis Southwestern (Cotton Belt)
Nice photo of an early 2-6-0 Mogul type steam locomotive built by Rhode Island in 1888 for the St Louis Southwestern (Cotton Belt). Specs - class C1, 57" drivers, 150 psi boiler pressure, 18x24" cylinders, light engine weight of 114,500 lb, small tractive effort of 17,394 lb. No date, location or photographer was listed for this photo but the "Chili" sign and stucco buildings made me think Texas..Finally, Ron Maxfield comes to our rescue and identifies the location (see comment below). The location is Corsicana, Texas, with the Wolf Brand Chili sign at the plant's location. Thanks, Ron!!!
