AMTK diner 8500         
Amtrak HERITAGE FLEET diner 8500 was on the northbound CRESCENT at Meridian, Mississippi. The car had been built by Budd in November 1948 as Burlington Route 194 SILVER DINER for operation on the CALIFORNIA ZEPHYR. It became Amtrak 8051 in 1971, HERITAGE FLEET car 8500 in September 1979 and then griddle diner 8551 in January 1987. It was sold at auction in January 2019. (N.B. The date on the image is incorrect.)
