| Amtrak P42DC number 1 was on train 58, the northbound CITY OF NEW ORLEANS, at Hammond, Louisiana. Number 1 had been built in August 1996 and was damaged in a grade crossing accident at Longmeadow, Massachusetts on 13 March 2017. The locomotive was on a northbound snowplow extra when it struck a municipal snowplow in this community four miles south of Springfield. It was never repaired and was sold at auction in 2019. |
