H LINLIN: A Perfect Pair Led By A Disappearing Breed
The H LINLIN was led by BNSF 570, one of only 2 B40-8 units left active on the BNSF system at the time. All the other standard cab B40-8 units have been laid up for sale or scrap. The B40-8W counter part however hasn't been as unlucky and has seen a fair amount of use in the Lincoln area of late, with several different ones appearing at once. 570 has been equipped with PTC, so for now it appears it will stay in service, but for how long is unknown.
