| This is one of two MMI K27s on my On30 roster. Both engines are DCC equipped with the controling decoder in the boiler and the sound decoder in the tender along with two speakers. By doing the DCC installation that way, these engines have been around 20 inch radius curves even though the stated minimum radius is 26 inches. By doing the two decoders, the number of wires between the engine and tender are reduced from 8 to 2. These engines are cast metal with brass detail parts and weigh in at a whopping 6.5 pounds each! |
