Bottom Illustration Caption: "Scale model shows how line operated. Cars were attached to cable at base of plane and hoisted to top by stationary steam power; then horses (later engines) pulled them on level grade to next plane." This model is presently on display at the National Park Service's "Allegheny Portage Railroad National Historic Site" visitor's center in Cresson, Pennsylvania.
