PRR 6847, M-1, 1947
Chione. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken near the Passenger Station in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, in April of 1947. The photographer is not identified. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6847, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during September of 1926 and retired in May of 1957 after 31 years of faithful service. In this context, it's about to enter the Station with an eastbound passenger train. Note the B-1 electric switcher coupled to the baggage car at the far right.
