SAR Class X-24 (Side A)         
Class X-24 (XJ-24) wagons entered service between 1965 and 1966 and are designed to transport water, treacle, oil, transformer oil and other similar products (Oil in this case). When undergoing a major service many tank wagons are now being equipped with a new all round the turret walkway, like on this wagon.
