AT&SF 543 Pushing Super Chief into Union Station  Contributor's Pick!
Shot from 12th St. (Roosevelt Rd.) Bridge. At this point in time this Amtrak train may well have been named Southwest Limited but my notes say Super Chief. Note the passenger cars in the Amtrak coach yard (ex-PRR). (Later) It was the Super Chief.

Ron Moraca General Great photo, Marty, both of the ATSF train and the yard! 11/5/2008 1:10:14 AM
Andy Guthrie General I think your notes are right; if memory serves, Santa Fe asked Amtrak to stop using the names Super Chief and Texas Chief in 1974. Cool shot too, the run into Union Station is nowhere near that colorful nowadays. 9/27/2009 7:29:08 PM
William H. Davis Jr. General Nice shot 12/23/2009 10:38:24 AM
