AMTK 799 crossing Gaviota Trestle  Contributor's Pick!
The trailing NCPU on Amtrak's LA to SLO Surfliner. This is the only Pacific Surfliner that normally operates with Horizon Fleet cars, a P42Dc and a Cabbage Car. It is also the only Surfliner that doesn't reach San Diego, running r/t LA to SLO. As to the trestle, it is 811 feet long and opened on December 12, 1900. It is located in a state park, where the rangers refer to it as the "Ghost Bridge."
