| Class NZ wagons are various types of wagons that were either purpose built or reclassified for use in non-revenue service. This is a Class FP-2 wagon that entered service in 1969 and was designed to transport parcels. It was likely decorated circa 1994 and on the A side it features Nelson Mandela, F.W. de Klerk and Mangosotho Buthelezi at left, and King Shaka and his mother Nandi at right. On both sides of the wagon various aspects of Zulu culture are also depicted. I suspect the artist was an ex SA Defence Force Zulu soldier, judging from the names incorporated in the artwork.
