PLM Railcar Maintenance Co. PLMX 421 ALCO C415  Contributor's Pick!
PLMX 421, an ALCO C415, was built by Alco in October 1966 with a builder's number of 3451-10. When built, she was CRIP 424. In March 1981, it was repossessed by the Union Pacific and sold to Brandon Corp. on June 23, 1981 for use on their Kansas operation, known as Brandon Corp as 424. It later went to PLM and was renumbered to 421 in March 1982. It was stored after 1996 at Morris, KS. Today it sits by the BNSF west of Argentine Yard in sad shape, but still retaining many original features, including the prime mover. One might notice the Rock Island red showing through on the end and sides. Somebody save it!
